Why Ojamajo Doremi is now my favourite anime (A Post-Sharp Braindump)

Ojamajo Doremi is just. Awesome. I actually used to watch some clips on youtube when i was very little (7-9 years old-ish?), but that time was a bit overshadowed by Precure, so I decided to revisit the series late-last year.

What appeals to me is that its so connected with real life in the way that the characters speak, act and the problems they face are actually realistic. The way problems are tackled gives a whole nother perspective into common problems that real people face.

For example, one of Doremi's classmates seems to be overweight and gets teased by some of the other classmates (mind you they're like in 3rd or 4th grade i forgot which season this was in), and is pressured to excercise more and diet. Our MCs encourage her and give tips on how to diet and exercise, but later they learn that young children actually need food to grow once their classmate suddenly passes out during a jog.

Sharp is also a very good look into the world of motherhood, as Doremi and her friends have to take care of this magic baby, Hana, and go through the hardship of being mothers, but in the end they care for the baby and are so dedicated to her well-being and happiness after all they've been through together.

I literally have no problem about the series so far. Even the classmates and other supporting cast are well written and have their own quirks and personality, nothing about that feels flat. (har har) (EVEN THE FRICKIN BABY HAS DEVELOPMENT)

The characters are also really relatable (since they're written so realistically). I can especially relate to Aiko, in the sense that her parents are divorced and she has some feelings that I also felt when I was younger.

I also simp for Onpu. Idk why it keeps on coming like this but for some reason I always end up liking the purple haired anime girl.

I'm really looking forward to watching more Doremi. Maybe I should make an episode by episode review of Motto?

Thanks for reading!
